My number one bather with today’s favorite dog. Dakota is a long haired german shepherd h here today for a deshed treatment.
Maggie, the soft coated wheaton terrier, whose mom cut some matts out to “help”. She will look great after her next groom.
Murphy is a cute little Westie I groom regularly. He is resting in the crate for a few minutes between bath and blow dry. This little break gives him a chance to move around, shake the water off and will minimize the time needed to force dry.
How I Became a Groomer

A little over eight years ago I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had waited tables, worked in offices, done my time in retail and I knew none of those jobs inspired me. One evening I went into a corporate chain pet store and chatted with the woman working at the desk of the grooming salon. My youngest son was almost two at the time and I needed a part time job so I went home and filled out an online application. Within a few weeks I was up to my elbows in shampoo and dog hair and I was happy as a clam.
Skooter is a cute little designer dog. He is supposed to be a poodle/schnauzer mix but appears to have some westie thrown in for good measure. He was terrified of the clippers so I took it slow today and dried him with the stand dryer. His haircut was accomplished with a #2 comb attachment and a lot of patience, finished off with some careful scissoring. Sweet little 8 month old boy and I expect he will come around in a few more grooms.
